                                    10ADULTSTUDENTATTENDANCEWhileadultsinopenentry/openexitclassesdonothavemandatoryattendancerequirements, students in managed enrollment classes must attend the mandatory weekly hours. Themanaged enrollment classes are face- to -face and may include online assignments in class. Distance Learning students are required to complete a technology survey and communicate with instructors at least twice a week.If any student misses more than 90 consecutive calendardays of attendance, then he/she is removed from the program.POLICIESREGARDINGMINORSTUDENTSArkansas Adult Education Policies and Arkansas Law allow minor students (defined as those students aged 16 or 17) to attend adult education classes under special circumstances. All minor students wishing to attend adult education classes (excluding court ordered students) must takethe TABEtestin Reading, Math, or Language.Minor StudentsmustobtainoneofthefollowingbeforereceivinganyAdultEducationservices:%u2022PhotoIdentification%u2022PublicSchoolWaiver%u2013Theschooldistrictmustagreetoreleasethestudenttotheadult education center with a notarized waiver form for the current academic year that has the school seal attached.%u2022Home School%u2013Students must present a notarized intent to homeschool that has been filedwiththesuperintendent%u2019sofficeforthecurrentacademicyearandhastheschool seal on it.%u2022Private or Parochial School%u2013Students must have a notarized letter from the school principalontheschoolletterheadstatingthatthestudenthasbeenattendingschoolfor the current academic year.%u2022Court Ordered%u2013Studentsmustbringthecourtorder.Beforecompleting any step of the enrollment process, minorsandtheirparents/guardiansMUSTattendanorientation session the Director of the program.MANDATORYATTENDANCEMinor students are required by law to attend classes for twenty (20) hours per week. A minimum of ten (10) hours per week attendance is required for those students who work at leastthirty(30)hoursperweek. A verification letteroncompanyletterhead from the company supervisor mustbepresented to the Program Director if the minor student wishes to be excused for work purposes.
