The college will, in cooperation with law enforcement authorities, make efforts to shield the individual from unwanted contactwith thealleged assailant,includingthetransferofthevictimtoalternativeclassesifthisoption is available and feasible.EDUCATIONANDCOUNSELINGSUPPORTBecause of the traumatic nature of sexual assault, victims are strongly encouraged to seek professional help. Students seeking professional help may obtain a listing of referrals at Counseling and Advising Services. Those who would like to receive more information about optionsforpressingchargesforreportingan incident,forfilinginternalcomplaintsorfinding counseling and educational materials can contact one of the college offices listed belo Human Resources %u2022 Dean of Students %u2022 Department of Police/Public Safety.SEXUALHARASSMENTPOLICYHarassmentonthebasisof sexisillegaland aviolationofTitleVIIoftheCivilRightsAct of 1964, as amended. This policy defines sexual harassment and establishes a procedure whereby alleged sexually harassed students may lodge a complaint immediately and confidentially. Any person found to have violated the college%u2019s policy against sexual harassment will be subject to appropriatedisciplinaryactionincluding,butnotlimitedto,reprimand,suspension,termination or expulsion. Any disciplinary action taken will depend upon the severity of the offense. It isalso a violation for any person to attempt, in any way, to retaliate against a person who makesa claim of sexual harassment.RESOLUTIONSPROCEDURESStudents who believe that they have been sexually harassed should first seek an informal resolutionasoutlinedbelow.Ifthatisnotpossible, a formalresolution shouldbepursued.All complaints should be made within 30 days of the occurrence of the alleged harassment.1.Informal Resolution: A person who believes that he or she has been subjected to sexual harassment should report the incident promptly to the adult education director. The person to whom the complaint is made shall promptly begin an impartial consideration of the complaint and make a thorough investigation. If a mutually agreeable settlement is not made within 14 daysfromthedateofthecomplaint, thecomplainantmayinitiatetheformalcomplaint.During all informal attempts to resolve a complaint, to the extent
